Superstars In Trial & Healthcare Conference

MSP Recovery in partnership with the Dade County Bar Association, Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association, and the Florida Association of Health Plans organized a two-day conference called Superstars In Trial & Healthcare featuring some of South Florida’s most experienced legal and healthcare professionals at the University of Miami, Donna E. Shalala Center.
During Superstars In Health, attendees enjoyed a full day of programming which included contributions from John H. Ruiz, Frank C. Quesada, Octavio Fernandez, and Diana Diaz. The MSP team discussed how federal and state laws may entitle providers to reimbursements for paid medical claims and how MSP Recovery’s recent landmark legal wins have been paving the way for potential recoveries. Additionally, a panel with healthcare industry leaders Jeff Herschler, Mario Espino, Dr. Vicente Lago, and Elizabeth Duran, offered attendees insight on ways to tackle obstacles facing healthcare professionals, and provided practical solutions.
“I have never seen so many people packed into a huge ballroom, at 8 AM, on a Friday in July for a CLE… this was by far the largest event of its kind in Florida this year,” Jordon Dresnick, Dade County Bar Association President said.
Without a doubt, legal titans and experienced judges drew a sold-out crowd for Superstars In Trial. Attendees learned about winning techniques through a mock trial surrounding a fictitious product liability wrongful death action, and were able to witness prominent attorneys John H Ruiz, Patrick Montoya, Gonzalo Dorta, Frank C. Quesada, Deborah Baker-Egozi, Judd G. Rosen, Jennifer G. Altman, and Jerry D. Hamilton litigate the case before a jury. Both before and after the mock trial, judges Lisa S Walsh, Jose M. Rodriguez, David C. Miller, Rodolfo A. Ruiz II, William Thomas, and David Young from the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida provided participants trial advocacy advice and tips.
