Richard J. Suarez is a judge on the Florida Third District Court of Appeal. He was appointed to the court by Governor Jeb Bush in 2004 and was retained by voters in 2006 and 2012. His current term expires on January 7, 2019. Suarez served as chief judge of the court from 2015 to 2017. Suarez earned both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from the University of Miami. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. After law school, Suarez joined and became a shareholder in the law firm of Corlett, Killian, P.A. In 1991, he became a member of the law firm of Hardeman & Suarez, P.A. Governor Jeb Bush appointed Suarez to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court bench in 2002, and then to the Third District Court of Appeal in 2004.
