Attorney Nexcy De La Rosa-Monroe attained her bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and English from Florida State University. She grew up in Miami, Florida, and after college returned to her home town to work as a Judicial Assistant for a County Court Judge. After 2 years, Attorney De La Rosa-Monroe went to law school at Nova Southeastern University and earned her Juris Doctorate degree, where she became a Supreme Court Certified County Court Mediator by mediating misdemeanor cases involving juveniles. After law school, she went on to practice family, civil, and probate law with private law firms until she opened her own law firm.
Attorney De La Rosa-Monroe is also active in her local and legal community as a board member of the Abundant Life Christian Learning Center and member of the Florida Bar Family Law Section. As part of the family law section, she has participated in several committees working to improve the laws and legal system affecting Florida families. Some of these committees include the children’s issues, support issues, and equitable distribution. She has also served as a committee member for the Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee during 2011 to 2014.
Attorney De La Rosa-Monroe is currently the President-Elect of the Dominican American Bar Association and a board member of the Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. She is also a past President of the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association.
